Petit Blasters

Logitech Z-10

Apart from its great sound, the next best feature of the Z-10 is its LCD display and touch-sensitive controls. Artist and track info rolls across the amber LCD display though this does not work with all music players. There are self-illuminated controls for the music player and also for bass, treble, volume. It has four internet radio presets too. The Z-10 is a two-way speaker set in a hard plastic cabinet with a rear firing bas port. Mounted on small stands, each speaker is slightly angled so one can hear them clearly while walking about in a room. This was the only set in the roundup with a built-in sound card and USB connectivity. A 3.5 mm headphone socket and auxiliary input is also provided.

While the Logitech Z-10 is an all-rounder, I think it’s at its best with music tracks. The warmth of the lower frequencies comes through well, especially with percussion, saxophone and bass guitar. So if you listen to a lot of music on your PC, the Logitech Z-10 is a perfect choice.

For: Good frequency response, built-in sound card, LCD display.

Against: Prone to scratches.
